POSITIONS AT ATLANTIS STUDIOS IN ATLANTA

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT  - $10/hour

Part-time, Shift 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Must have skills in graphic design, pre-press layout, and demonstrated experience in comic book lettering. Will be required to work 25 hours a week in Atlantis Studios office in Buford, Georgia.

Qualified individuals must have experience in lettering, graphic design, and final pre-press layout of full color comic books, graphic novels, or related publications. These positions require an interest in comic book illustration, and a demonstrated knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

A portfolio is required to apply. Candidates may inquire by phone regarding the position, but a portfolio must be reviewed prior to an interview.

POSITIONS AT CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY

Position: Station Manager/ CAU-TV
Manages the operations of CAU-TV, an educational access channel that provides informative programming to more than 88,000 households within the Atlanta city limits, and to the Atlanta University Center, which consists of more than 10,000 students and faculty and staff members. CAU-TV is an integral part of the Division’s instructional program, providing a key training venue for more than 800 Mass Media Arts television and film students.
The Station Manager is responsible for the overall supervision and operations of CAU-TV (including budgeting and scheduling); supervises CAU-TV staff in the development and production of university and local programming; and works collaboratively with Mass Media Arts faculty and students directly to support the production of daily newscasts and public affairs programming. The Station Manager will teach one course in television production or multimedia news each semester, including summer. The position requires a master’s degree in television/film production, broadcasting or a related field plus 2-5 years of management and/or professional experience. Experience in electronic media in a university environment is helpful.

Position: News and Public Affairs Director/WCLK 91.9 FM
WCLK seeks a News and Public Affairs Director to assume responsibility for the production and oversight of all news, talk and public affairs programs. The News and Public Affairs Director anchors, writes and produces the morning cut-ins and Community Forum. The Director also upholds station’s broadcast integrity with balanced, accurate news reporting standards. The News and Public Affairs Director is liaison between the Mass Media Arts program and WCLK’s structured training program that enables students to earn academic credit through internships and/or radio courses. Ideal candidates will possess a Master’s degree in Journalism/Mass Media plus three years previous combined experience as news editor, anchor or producer in commercial or public radio or Bachelor’s Degree with three years experience as news director or assignment editor. Must possess excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills and have management experience. The Director must have knowledge of FCC Rules and Regulations.

Position: Assistant/Associate Professor in Public Relations

The Department of Mass Media Arts invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Public Relations. The ideal candidate will be skilled in multimedia platforms and will teach courses such as Principles of Public Relations, Public Relations Campaigns, and Public Opinion and Propaganda, along with other undergraduate courses, depending on departmental needs. A Ph. D. degree in mass communication, public relations, or journalism is required. The successful candidate will also provide evidence of quality teaching, and demonstrated potential for scholarly research. Professional experience in public relations is a must.

FILM INDUSTRY RELATED SALES POSITION

TRANSATLANTIC SALES

*We are looking for an energetic, entrepreneurial acting, directing or film student or other sales person with affinity and connections to the movie industry (big screen, college or wedding videos) to sell light cranes for video cameras, dollies, etc. on a commission basis to supplement tuition payments.

There will be training and support and possibly office space, telephone and internet access available.If not from home, office location would be Duluth.
