Courses Appropriate to the Major [18 Hours]

A. Foreign Language 1002 [3 Hours]

The College of Arts & Sciences requires the completion of a foreign language at the 1002 level for all students seeking a BA degree. (See catalog for more detailed information)

B. Film 1010, 2700 (minimum grade of “C” required) [6 Hours]

C. Three electives from the following [3 Hours]:

Major Requirements [24 Hours]

(A grade of "C" is required for all major courses.)

A. Film 4750 Film Theory and Criticism [3 Hours]

B.Two of the following courses [6 Hours]:

Film 4170 Hollywood Cinema to 1967, Film 4180 International Cinema, Film 4960 Contemporary Hollywood Cinema

C. One of the following courses [3 Hours]

Film 4210 Critical History of Television, Film 4280 Film Genres, Film 4800 America Film and TV Industries

D.One of the following courses [3 Hours]:

Film 4120 Filmmaking I*, Film 4240 Documentary Film, Film 4250 Media Producer

E.Three additional 4000-level film and video courses chosen from the courses not selected above or from the following [9 Hours]:

Film 3000( same as Jou/Th 3000), 4000(same as Th 4000), 4130, 4140, 4260, 3300 (same as Th 3300), 4310, 4760 (same as AAS 4900) 4780, 4880H, 4980

*To enroll in Film 4120, students must receive departmental authorization. To be considered, students must have: 1) a 3.0 grade-point average; 2) completed Film 1010 and 2700; and 3) submitted evidence of creative ability to the Department of Communication by October 15 of the year of their eligibility prior to Phase I registration in semesters when Film 4120 is offered
